Sanitation Services - Residential Recycling Collection

Residential recycling collection is provided once per week in the same location as garbage collection. The City of Dallas provides residences with a 90-gallon polyethylene resin roll cart for recycling collection upon request. Residents can keep their carts clean and odor free by periodically rinsing them with a little detergent and a garden hose.

Waste has no place in Dallas, which is why the City is so proud of the recycling efforts already made by its residents and city staff.

Last fiscal year the City of Dallas collected over 45,000 tons of recyclables from their residents and diverted over 190,000 tons from the landfill!

By increasing our recycling rate and coming up with innovative ways to increase Waste Diversion, we saved $1,185,260.21 of landfill space.
