Public Works and Transportation - Transportation Regulation

Transportation regulation is responsible for the regulation of for-hire conveyance vehicles in the City, including emergency wreckers, shuttles, taxicabs, non-motorized vehicles, buses, limousines and non-emergency ambulances. Regulatory activities also include investigation of operating authority and rate adjustments.

Taxicab

A person interested in driving a taxicab in the City of Dallas must do the following:

1. Choose a taxicab company that the person is interested in driving for
2. Obtain a taxicab driver application and contract from the cab company
3. Visit the Transportation Regulation Division, at:
