How To Volunteer with the City of Dallas

There's a volunteer job that's right for you!
ServiceWorks!, the City of Dallas Volunteer Program is a collaboration of the Volunteer Center of North Texas and the City of Dallas that provides volunteer administration and consultation to the departments of the City of Dallas. Just follow these easy steps:
STEP 1: Discover The Possibilities
Here are three ways to learn about many different volunteer jobs:
- Check on the Lending A Hand column in the Dallas Morning News (Monday's edition) and Quick newspaper (Tuesday's edition) for new volunteer opportunities.
- Sign up to receive monthly email of opportunities by sending an email to csauls@volunteernorthtexas.org.
STEP 2: Get Connected
Find a volunteer job that interests you?
- Then call or e-mail the contact person to learn more about it.
- You may be asked to interview with the departmental volunteer coordinator. This is a great opportunity to see if this is the right opportunity for you!
STEP 3: Find The Right Opportunity For YOU
What happens if you don't click with the first department you call?
- Try the next one, and the next one...
- Still can't make a match? Contact us! New opportunities are being developed everyday. We can help you find the opportunity to best suits your skills and interests.
STEP 4: Stay Informed
