 Employee Wellness Program

Wellness Program & Services The City of Dallas is please to announce its Wellness Program (EWP) for employees, retirees, and their dependents. This program is new this year and it is designed to help employees and their families lead better healthier lives by increasing awareness through individual health screenings and group educational programs and services. The program offers a variety of services and activities designed to enhance good health and quality of life. Most of these are available to members of the employee's household as well. Collectively, all of the wellness activities are intended to help participants address the physical, mental, emotional and social aspects of life.

Wellness Benefits
The Wellness program is a new dimension to your total benefit package. This benefit includes the following:

  1. Health Screening
    All screenings are held on site in various locations city-wide. All screening includes: Height, Weight, Blood Pressure, Total Cholesterol (HDL/LDL) Triglycerides, Glucose, Waist Size, Hip Size, and Body Fat Percentage.   2. Health Risk Assessment
    PPO health risk assessments can be completed online if you enrolled with UnitedHealthcare. However, you must register at myuhc.com.
  3. Health Awareness
    This will include health education classes and lectures, brochures, support groups and other sources of information.
  4. Summary of proposed programs and services
    The employee survey is one of the key tools that will drive Wellness Programs and Services we will offer. Based on the feed back from the first round of responses from the Employee Survey we anticipate offering the list of programs and services below.

  5. Health & Wellness Speakers
    Various health and wellness speakers present programs throughout the year. Once implemented you will be able to click on the Wellness Calendar of Events or see the current Benefacts Newsletter.
  6. Lunch & Learn / Brown Bag Lunches
    We will offer a curriculum of quarterly wellness informational programs that will be held during the fall, winter, and spring. Bring your own lunch while listening to a local medical professional about current wellness topics. Examples include, Weight Watchers, Healthy Eating and Flu Shots
