Creeks

The maintenance of creeks, drainage ways, channels, and streams is the responsibility of the property owner.  Except for creeks in parks,  Street Services maintains creeks and drainage ways owned by the City of Dallas.  For assistance with concerns about creeks, contact the City Services Dispatch at 3-1-1 when dialing from inside the city limits, or (214) 670-5111 when dialing from outside the city limits.

Once contacted, a determination of ownership will be made.  If the creek belongs to the City of Dallas, you will be advised of the condition of the creek and the approximate schedule for maintenance.  If the creek is privately owned, the owner(s) will be contacted and requested to maintain the creek.  Street Services will forward your concern to the Public Works and Transportation Department's Flood Management Division for follow up.
