Environmental and Health Services Senior Services The Office of Senior Affairs offers a variety of services to increase community awareness of services available to older adults. The office coordinates services between City departments and the community, advocates on issues for adults 60 years of age and older, assesses aging needs, and seeks options to address those needs. Senior Medical Transportation Program The City of Dallas Senior Services Division of Environmental and Health Services provides free transportation services for ambulatory seniors aged 60 and over to medical and other health related appointments within Dallas city limits. Utilizing 2 seven-passenger mini-vans, the Senior Transportation Pilot Program serves these Cit y Council zip codes:
“Door-to-door” service is provided as needed which goes beyond the customary “curb-to-curb” transportation normally provided. As a result, the older adult, including the frail elderly, are afforded the opportunity to have assistance they may require. To schedule transportation to medical facilities, or to request bus passes, call (214) 670-0199. Scheduling must be made five days in advance of the appointment.
