A Fair Park Fourth to be biggest July 4th fireworks event in the Metroplex.
The forecast for July 4 this year will be the most astounding showers the Metroplex has ever seen, plus plenty of accompanying thunder! Showers of fireworks, that is. Witness the grand extravaganza of A Fair Park Fourth presented by Dr Pepper, from 5-10 p.m. on Independence Day at Fair Park.
“We believe this is going to be the largest fireworks show in Texas,” says event spokeswoman Angela Reed Shellene. “We are bringing in the one and only Fireworks by Grucci. Known as ‘America’s first family of fireworks,’ Grucci has staged some of the most spectacular fireworks all over the world, including six consecutive Presidential inaugurations and many of the Olympic Games ceremonies. So it is certainly a national class show and extremely sophisticated.”
After dusk, fireworks will vividly explode a thrilling 800 feet into the night sky. “The whole show will be choreographed to music,” adds Ms. Shellene. “Everyone can listen to classical radio station WRR’s patriotic fanfare on speakers throughout Fair Park, or tune their radios to 101.1 FM.” The Esplanade and Lagoon are the main viewing areas; special sponsors of the event can gaze from the Superpages.com Center, near the launching point of the fireworks. Got a picnic basket, lawn chair and a blanket? Then bring ‘em, or opt for good eats from concession stands.
Prior to the star-spangled spectacle, all Fair Park museums will be open with free admission from 5-8 p.m. and all the fountains will be running. The acclaimed Dallas Wind Symphony, which is based in Fair Park, gives a rousing performance at 8:30 p.m. in front of the Hall of State.
Come fire up some fun at A Fair Park Fourth presented by Dr Pepper. July 4 was never this amazing!
